Windows 8 – Just 2 Years Away
According to reports, it has been known that Microsoft has subsequently let leak the info that the future version of Windows OS i.e. Windows 8 will be released in around 2 years.
As reported by Mashable, this information was posted at the bottom of a post commemorating Windows 7’s one-year anniversary in Microsoft’s Dutch Website.
We have already come to know about the expected features of Microsoft Windows 8 from a leaked slide deck about the forthcoming product earlier this year.
The slide deck has indicated that the new Windows Version is going to include a Windows “App” Store similar to the one for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion which Apple released last week in their event. The new Windows 8 version is also supposed to include logins via facial recognition and faster boot-up times.
Even though Microsoft have mentioned the expected release date of Windows 8 themselves as 2012, the release may be delayed or advanced according to development but we are pretty much sure Microsoft is not going to repeat the blunder they did when they took almost 5 years to release Vista after XP.

The funny thing is when microsoft tries to do something that isn’t a copy they fail big time. Take windows vista for example. xD

Hopefully Windows 8 is going to be better than Win 7. Just like Win 7 is better than Vista.
I am using Vista though, some stuff are microsoft failure. I guess Vista is.

I wonder if they are certain on calling it Windows 8 or if they will give it a different name? Hopefully they make sure it runs smoothly when they release it.

Firstly I thought that it is some kind of a joke, but after reading for a while I reckoned it more seriously…:) and as Bar Stools Bobby said, I truly hope that they will create different name to it… : )
Wow. Windows 7 didn’t have a very long lifespan. I’m still running XP and was about to upgrade to 7. Maybe I’ll just wait now. hah
I just really hope MS gets their act together for Windows 8. I really don’t want to see a repeat of Vista. eek!
Thanks for the article. I have started waiting about this version
I just love windows.
I just hope they don’t rush it. We don’t need a new version of Windows for the sake of it, especially because there’s a lot of people migrating over from XP to 7, and that’s a process that will take a while I think (because of the huge uptake of XP, and the relative flop of Vista).
as a windows fan. i am waiting to see the first look of the next windows 8.

Well, I am sure we aint going to buy each and every OS that comes out. I always watch for a few months for reviews of the product and then only buy it. Just like Vista, I never bought it
