Why Do I Praise WordPress?
WordPress doesn’t pay me a penny, nor do I gain from advertising it. Then why do I praise WordPress? Simply because I tried it a while back and loved it – love is great emotion – it doesn’t work on rewards. Now enough of praising and time to get down to brass tacks.
WordPress is free
You may say that virtually everything is free on the internet. But here you get a lot more. There are thousands of applications, themes and plug-ins which are available free along with WordPress. It was astounding to see the number of additional features you can download and use. Some other blog sites like Blogger, don’t give you that flexibility and freedom which means you will be cramped and restrained while blogging.
WordPress is both a website and a blog
This is perhaps the greatest virtue of WordPress. You can use it as a website with static pages and navigation or simply as a blog or both. This facility is not available with Blogger. With Blogger, which incidentally belongs to Google, you only get a blog. Though Google is trying hard to catch-up, WordPress is way ahead of the race. I have used Blogger before and I can tell you with fair amount of authority – WordPress still rules. I recently wanted to make a website and tried WordPress. Earlier, I used to first create web pages with Dreamweaver, which incidentally is a nice Adobe application for generating web pages. But the problem was that I never knew how the website would behave in different browsers. It used to take me days to tweak and fine tune my site to behave properly. Come WordPress and all my problems were solved in a jiffy. I installed WordPress and started creating my web pages and presto my site was up and about in a couple of hours. This was a great experience which led me to this post.
WordPress has two wonderful flavors
There is more to WordPress than WordPress. There are two flavors – wordpress.com and wordpress.org. For those who don’t want to go through the drill of buying and registering their own website there is an online edition of WordPress. Here everything is ready to eat kind of on-demand blog. I would recommend this to newbies. It’s a starter kit for people who want to feel and touch a real blog. Later you can progress to the real thing – wordpress.org. The migration from one to other is smooth and easy as eating a chocolate cake.
Conclusion
I would recommend WordPress both to newcomers and professional bloggers. If you want a great blog or a super website, which looks sleek and professional, WordPress is the way to go. I have tried other flavors and have come to the conclusion that this is it. No doubt more than 30 million downloads of WordPresss 3.0 have been reported. Nothing surprising here. So why are you waiting? Welcome to the world of WordPress.

You really love WordPress as this post is an ode to it. I can say that i am quite positive about it, but in life i prefer to use different things. i think the variety rules the world.
I love WordPress too. I used to use Dreamweaver for everything, now it’s just a legacy on some of my sites. My sister used to work for Macromedia back when they made Dreamweaver, so my copy was really cheap, but I still like WordPress better now.

Even i feel the same initially started with blogger but somehow was not satisfied with the look and themes. Then wordpress came in and as they say everything is history, Just copied all ma contents in to wordpress and never logged back to blogger. You are right in mentioning “Love doesn’t work on rewards”
Everybody can handle wordpress, whether they are newbies or professionals. There are lots of plugins available too so a WP user can maximize its size. Most people are actually using WordPress compared to any platform.

the features are of premium grade still its free and opensource . i think it is a boon for bloggers
