Top iPhone Apps for Watching TV

Are you looking for a way to watch television  on your iPhone? Check out these iPhone apps to help.

SlingGuide – If you have DISH Network, go to login on the Safari browser and you’ll be able to  remote control your home DVR using your iPhone.

Live TV and TubeToGo For you TV and Mac addicts – Live TV allows you to stream live TV programs directly to your iPhone from your Mac. You can also remotely start a recording in The Tube. Access your TV recordings on the go wherever you happen to be and program recordings for The Tube remotely so you will always have something to watch.

B-Movies B-Movies is an free app to browse the Internet Archive’s Moving Images library of free movies, films, and videos. You need a Wi-Fi connection to watch the movies. There are movie summaries, searching and you can choose to view the movies Low, Medium or High Quality streaming.

Hollywood Pocket Not a big collection but great quality. You have to visit the site from the iPhone Safari browser to find the movies by category. You can pause, fast forward or rewind the movie.

Joost Another free iPhone application with a huge amount of selections. Includes documentaries and TV shows.

Spreety TV iPhone : Allows you to watch full episodes of TV shows online through 3G or Wi-Fi on your iPhone. To access the iPhone version of Spreety, you have to open your Safari browser and type iphone.spreety.com. Watch NBC, CBS, CW, clips and some full episodes too. A Wi-Fi connection is recommended for the CBS iPhone shows.

Daily Motion The Daily Motion app has short films, music videos and 15 channels of content. This is a video sharing website that lets you not only watch but share the videos with your friends via email, Facebook and Twitter.

  4. I love the idea that you can watch B-movies. I am glad that there are decent wifi connections so I think hooking up online will not be a problem.

    I’d rather have my iphone connect to a wifi device on the network that shot out the infrared signal to my devices than have to plug that thing into my phone.

  8. Joost is a very famous rugby player in my country, and I think he will want to discuss his “brand” with these fellows and all. As a person who only really uses a telly for sport I must say that I am quite gobsmacked by the increasing crossover between traditional broadcast tv & internet tv!

      One day in the future there will certainly ONLY be Internet TV and no traditional TV…lol

      • Oh yes, but Google is apparently buying some unused channel space in the broadcast frequency range with an eye on doing broadcast internet TV. The internet is set to revolutionise TV just as it has the music industry.
