Tips To Increase Your RSS Feed Subscribers
It is important for those who have blogs to increase your RSS feed subscribers. This means that anyone following your blog will have instant access to your updates. Although some bloggers don’t have the number of RSS feed subscribers that you might want, there are ways to increase this number. These tips are ones that anyone should be practicing for their blog already. If not, there is no time like the present to start.
RSS Buttons
RSS buttons and email subscription buttons are the most important component of increasing the number of RSS feed subscribers. These buttons are easy to use and they motivate the visitor to use a single click to set it up. Having these buttons in a strategic place on the page is a good move. The best places are usually at the top of the page in plain sight. Often they are located right at the top of the page in the corner. In this place, most people see it right away. If you don’t have these buttons in place on every page, then you are advised to do this as quickly as possible.
Contests
People love contests and they love to win. You don’t need to have something overly complicated. You can have a simple content to bring people to your site and to have them sign up for the RSS feed. As a prize, offer prizes such as gift cards, e-books, domains and other such things. Even small prizes are often enough to motivate people to sign up for a RSS feed because it is free and it takes very little effort.
Plugins
There are plugins available from various blog hosting sites or other types of hosting sites that offer a more extravagant invite to the RSS feed. These catch the attention of the visitor faster and they are just as easy to use. The type of plugin depends on the hosting site but they are quite handy to use. These can be used at the bottom of the page for those who have read the article and have enjoyed it.
RSS Feed Directories and Forums
There are RSS Feed Directories where you can submit your RSS feed. You can also participate in forums and place your RSS feed instead of your URL in some cases. If you like to comment on other blogs, you can post your RSS feed with your comment as well instead of your website page. This may increase your RSS feed subscribers.
Putting It All Together
Because increasing the number of subscribers to your RSS feed is important, you need to put some time into it. Displaying the RSS feed buttons or email subscription buttons doesn’t take too much time. Other methods may be but if you are serious about your venture then you need to take this time to complete the task. Once it is done however, you only need to carry on maintaining the work which doesn’t tend to take as much time, and you will see the results of your efforts.

Nice tips in there. Building a subscriber list is my #1 Goal as a blogger, so this comes in handy. Out of all the methods you mentioned I found the competitions to be the most effective.

When I’ve started to blog I wasnt thinkin about the RSS feed and the subscribers. I was concentrating more on the content and the backlinks and overall traffic. After a while I’ve understand that the subscribers list is one of the most crucial things that the blog owner should think about. After all subscribers are the people that will often come back to your blog and read the news on it. A lot of new bloggers should read and ingest all the tips that you have placed in the article. I would also add rss feed links to signature links in forums and emails in order to get more publicity and more subscribers to the rss fed.
it is also important to protect feeds from scrapers , it hurts a lot. i have put excerpts on feeds to save original content

Another way is application for smart phones, many people are reading news on their phone so there is a possibility for more subscribers with simple application for Android or iPhone.
