The iPhone: Three Reasons It’s a Must Have on Vacation

| May 7, 2010 | 13 Comments More

Packing for a vacation can be time consuming and stressful. Remembering every little item that a family necessitates is indeed a challenge. More often than not, several items are forgotten which leads to extra vacation costs when replacing these items-and not to mention, more stress.  An iPhone can mean the difference between a successful, relaxing getaway and a frustrating experience altogether. Here’s why:

There are three things someone always wants for their vacation. These three things can all be found and used on an iPhone. First, when on vacation it is essential to know where one is going. Of course, this is the reason for GPS devices and Google map tools.  The days of the store bought maps are out and electronic global positioning systems are in. Of course, GPS devices can cost hundreds of dollars and are usually a bit bulky to carry around by hand. An iPhone, though, is a sleek little device that comes with not only a GPS but also a full display of Google maps. With this handy tool that gives step by step directions, anyone on vacation will know where they are going.

The second reason for securing an iPhone before your next getaway is to have on-hand access to suggestions for things to do. For instance, those who are traveling in say, Boston-they may not be aware of all of their entertainment and sight-seeing options. The iPhone provides full web browsing capabilities so that anyone can simply type in a Google search for what to do in Boston. The iPhone is different from most phones’ mobile web as it provides full browser abilities. This means the search will pull up everything your browser was intended to show. Finding out what to do in Boston (or anywhere else in the world for that matter) doesn’t get any easier than with the iPhone.

Lastly, a staple for every vacation is to log the memories with photos and home videos. The frustrating issue most deal with when on vacation is lugging around their bulky cameras. People do not always remember to bring their cameras and recorders with them at all times which leads to missing out on the perfect Kodak moments. Phones, though, are usually always on hand and the incredible picture taking clarity provided on the iPhone itself is indeed another great reason to ensure you have it handy before your next retreat. Indeed, never get lost or be at a loss of what to do and never miss a perfect picture moment again when on vacation with an iPhone.
