Subscribers/Readers Base – Fake Or Real?

| December 2, 2011 | 1 Comment More

After a long tiring day at work, the moment you login to your Facebook account to hang on with friends, suddenly a chat box pop saying “Hi Please Like” along with the link to “NOWHERE”. What else you can do other than liking the page or subscribing to it and then move ahead. Now some questionnaire. What’s the use of grabbing such users? Are you greedy for fake readers/Subscriber base? Why are you concentrating more on quantity rather than quality readers? I know it’s hard, but it`s not impossible. Is it? To be clear and upfront, why are you concentrating more on Fake Subscriber/Readers Base? Is it worth the few Quality/Real subscribers/Readers Base?

readers base - fake or real

You, not only irritating the user by posting or sending such requests to like or follow your website/blog, but also harming yourself, diluting your quality readers base too. Do you want that? Off-course not! So lets shun the use of lame tricks right from where they originate.

Source Of Fake Users –

  • Paid services - Paid services to buy Twitter or Facebook Fan followers. Services like Twiends which in a matter of time has the capability to increase your readers base to zero to a high figure. And that’s the end, no one knows where the masses are heading. Webmasters/Bloggers are just happy to see that now they flaunts a huge, not so interested users as their Readers/Subscribers, after that no one’s going to read or visit your stuff. No use. Shun the use of such services, save money, save time, save resources, concentrate on quality.
  • Forced Insistence – Yeah, the one mention in the Stanza one above, is the best example of forced insistence. Why request when you can attract them by writing quality stuff. Have you seen any big blogger asking about or forcing you to like his/her blog or content. No they never do it, and never will, because they work the other way by publishing content which wins hearts so thus your likes.
  • Pop Up Subscription Plug-insJust jumped on a random web page to feed my mind and after a few seconds, there comes the pop-up asking for you to subscribe to the blog feeds hampering your reading. And you know about the vast web, once the web page leaved to complete such requests, will never got to finish what an individual was reading before. Tell me, do you really need such plugins, when your quality content can do wonders, can grab you the every reader who visit your blog. And to aware you about the fact, 8 out of 10 readers either leave your blog/website or close the pop-up without paying any heed to it.

From Where Should I Generate Quality Subscriber/Readers Base –

  • Quality ContentThough requires hard-work, but everyone knows it`s never get in vain. Write stuff that attracts readers, visitors, subscribers. The best way to attract readers base is to write tutorials, long-lasting content, content which can be used regularly. The content which is in demand. Something like, useful collection of tools, which every other user longs for. And I bet, your subscribers/readers base will increase within no time, without the use of such plugins or forced insistence or any other lame trick to get the work done. And you know the tendency of such content going viral takes no time. They not only will subscribe to your blog, but also recommend it to your friends and followers. Just a little creativity is doing wonders. Research for your readers and publish it on your blog. Write such a content for which the readers has to toil the web day and night. I ask you to do that for your readers, will you?
  • Consistency – Just few words, be consistent in providing such content, two or three such blog post are more than enough to fetch a decent readers base to your blog.
  • What Do You Consider If A Reader Bookmarks Your Web Page – To me, it`s also a form of quality reader/subscriber, the only difference is that it`s just not listed in your database, the one which you manage via your feeds or similar way. But the reader has bookmarked your page for the purpose of revisiting it again. Don’t you think so? They are not so hard to grab.
  • Subscription Box Placement – Rather than placing some ads to fetch few cents, place a subscription box first or in words I would like to say, place it somewhere, where the readers can navigate it easily. The best one works just below the blog post along with some share buttons. Or make it a first thing on your sidebar.
  • Do You Guest Post – Guest posting is one of the best way to introduce your blog to the new audience, the one with a different mindset. And if your content is great, every visitor will be redirected to your blog and convert himself/herself as your regular reader/subscriber. Win Win situation – Backlinks, Authority, Fresh Readers and much more!!

Still the source of fake users is less than the legitimate one(or might be I’m missing something), but you know, everyone wants to be successful overnight, which going to end up nowhere one day.

Winding up with a question to you, what does your arsenal consist of – Fake Or Real? So share your opinion with us.

My Take – Be Real, Follow Real.

It can be a hard pill to swallow sometimes but I agree. People that “Get Rich Quick” are poor even quicker.

This is true with site attention and business as a whole. I run a lean startup, which is finally hitting our stride. When we launched… ugh, it was a sad few months. Would I have preferred to have funding and the cash to do all sorts of things? Of course! But there is no way I would have had the lasting results. I probably would have just made much bigger, more expensive mistakes. Elbow grease – that’s all ya need :)

    Great post :)
