Have you every pondered how much your Brand’s Facebook’s Fan Page would be worth? Probably Yes. Recently a company called Virtue, a social media management company has released a tool which will let you know that worth of your Brand or Company’s Facebook Page. Dubbed the Social Page Evaluator, it is designed to help you get a better understanding of a Facebook Page’s value.
Just submit the URL of you Facebook Page and it will come up with a calculated price based on a number of factors like the number of fans, number of daily posts, number of interactions etc. Even though the calculated price given by this tool may not be totally true but still the tool is quite cool. The algorithm for calculation is based on a formula to calculate the relative value of Facebook Fans of big brands which was released just last month by this social media management company, Virtue.
The base rate of Earned Media Value (or CPM in more traditional terms) is $5, but this can be adjusted to a higher or lower value depending on the brand in question.
After entering your fanpage URL in the Social Page Evaluator tool, you will be shown a page same as above. This page shows the current value and the potential value of your fan page in a bar graph. It also provides you the factors that have been used to determine your page’s value. The factors include posts, number of fans, Interaction and earned media value. It also provides you in the right side of the page, some recommendations that you can follow to increase your fan page value .
You can also compare your fan page’s value with other brands. I tried to compare Netchunks’ fan page with that of Shoutmeloud, one of the leading blog in India. See the result yourselves below
See how puny Netchunks looks. Seems I have to do a lot of Social Media Optimization (S.M.O).
Another good feature that this tool includes is the Fan-tasize. This feature will allow you to manipulate other features like number of posts per day, engagement level and Fan count to see how that affects the valuation.
So it shows that if I post 6 posts a day, have a good amount of interactions with fans and have atleast 500 fans, my fan page’s value would be $16,200. I should start SMO right now it seems.
This tool is not accurate but is a good way to get and idea of the factors which impact a Facebook page’s valuation.
