Not Getting Good Traffic From Search Engines – What Could Be Wrong?
There are many good reasons why you might not be getting enough traffic to your site from search engines. You should make sure that you correct all your problems if you want more people to get to your site.
The first problem about why you might not be getting traffic from search engines involves how you might not be balanced enough. Sometimes you might be focusing too much on a search engine and not enough on the use of proper content in your site or a social media presence. It helps to combine search engine marketing with content creation and social media if you want to get more traffic.
Using better content on your site and getting into social media can make your site a little more prominent on a search engine. It will help you to keep you site from being too far down on a search engine.
Another problem is that you are using too few keywords on your site. You’ll need to think about different kinds of keywords that relate to your site if you want something to be a little more appealing. After all, some people who search for your site might have more things in mind than just the primary thing that you have to offer on it.
There is also the concern about whether or not you are trying to get access into other sites. Websites that are buried at the bottom of a search engine tend to be ones that do not have many links to them. You can get more links to go towards your site by writing informative articles to article databases or getting link exchanges with different websites that relate to yours. Anything that gets your links out there will always help.
Another reason why your site may not be working out right comes from the lack of content on the site. A site that has more content on it is more likely to be visible than others. This is a great point to see because a website that has ten or more pages on it will be something that a search engine will find to be very favorable.
This does not mean that you should simply try to throw in anything on your site. One reason why you may not get enough traffic is because you have duplicate pages or pages with very little content on them. Getting rid of these excess pages or adding real and unique content to those pages can help you to get up a little higher in a search engine.
These are all good points about why you may not be getting the search engine traffic that you want. You should correct these problems if you want your website to be a little easier to find on a search engine. After all, search engines can control your fate and keep you from getting the search engine traffic you need.

I agree that the content can be poor and the wrong keywords and may be you work with the sites which has no relation to the topic of the site and it is more important to promote through the sites which can be beneficial for your site.
Less number of quality backlinks and bad selection of keywords are some of the reasons for not getting search traffic..

While yes content also has to be there – you can have the best eatery in your city, but if you are in a location no one drives by and no one visits – no one will ultimately be there to dine on your food. If you are not getting enough traffic from search engines then your site may be quite new and/or may lack in optimization and/or may be in a very competitive niche.

Contents are considered as king.For good and appreciable traffic always write quality contents for your site and create links for your site from quality contents.I have applied this formula for all my sites.
I’ve been trying to get good traffic from Google for a couple of months now and I can say it’s been a frustrating journey. I create quality content but that’s just not good enough. I’ve realized that you need good backlinks or you won’t get any Google love. So far blog commenting has been providing good results.

Interesting… One of the problems with my site in terms of your list is the fact that much of the content is pointed to via flash and actionscript. So there are essentially only a few static pages whose content may not be visible to the search engines. This belies the fact that there is a lot of content. I think the first steps of planning, research and competitor analysis are very important. Many times people are choosing wrong keywords, too much competition or low conversion.
I think it is very hard to find a site who gets for example poor traffic from Google as Google indexes the pages and so on very quickly and if you are lazy then you won’t get any traffics at all. But when we speak about some other search engines e.g. local ones, they have very tough policies about the site promotion and sometimes even if you work you may get no result at all as the way the search engine works is a complete mystery.
You should never really depend on search engines to be sending you traffic. Let’s say you target Google and you get 90% of your traffic from organic Google searches…what happens if Google were to ever disappear?

There are so many possibilities why and most of the time those things are obvious – strong competition, domain age, link popularity, content, etc. SEO takes time and a lot of efforts.
