Making Your Marketing Dollar Stretch

| August 25, 2011 | 5 Comments More

There’s no secret to marketing, but having an effectively strategy and approach while working on a budget does come with it’s own set of challenges. It’s not impossible to market your business and make your dollar stretch further. In some ways, it makes small businesses more creative with the way they use the limited resources they have available. You have to look at ways that you can receive the most exposure to your business for the least amount of money. There are several approaches to low-budget/high-impact marketing campaigns that prove helpful to smaller, and even larger, businesses.

Leverage Marketing Dollar

A common misconception among companies is that it takes a costly ad campaign to be effective and generate profits. This really isn’t the case and much of the marketing done on Television and other media is really hit or miss. They come up with commercials and ads that are focused on being creative or are just too broad to get, or appeal, to audiences. Much of the larger market is fixated on profile and visibility. These campaigns often take out huge chunks out of budgets and if it doesn’t work, you’re left with a costly, low-result ad. This is why knowing your target audience is the first step it devising any strategy.

Having a concentrated effort and knowing who to focus your attention on will give you much more control over your marketing approach and save you a lot of wasted time and money with “spit-ball” advertising. Small companies can achieve this through online surveys and marketing through a creative agency. This is, perhaps, the most critical part of any plan. For any marketing approach to be effective, you have to be able to identify the niche markets that make up a large portion of purchases. Once you’re aware of which markets you’re going for, you can then focus your attention to social media and other free online resources to build connections within that niche community.

Use social media as a way to connect to networks of users that relate to you. Offering advice and your services as a relevant brand and something that they’d be interested anyway. You can also reach out to local businesses and form connections within your community. For smaller businesses, it’s essential to take business directly to the consumer and increase your profile.

Larger companies take the trolling approach and blanket the market with their ads. Many marketers say that a consumer has to see a brand seven to ten times before you’ll come close to influencing their decision on a purchase. This is going for a reactionary and brand association approach that’s really costly. What smaller businesses need to do is reach out to their target market and form connections and associations, not manipulate consumers into buying their product or service.

To know your target customers is number one and i think any promotion and advertising should be catching and unusual in some way and thus it will attract some more people to you and it will bring you some profits

Social ads have never really worked well for me, first the price is to high, 2nd conversion is very low. Google AdWords bring better results however nothing can beat organic traffic.
