Increase Your Productivity with These Newish Outsourcing Tools

| January 30, 2011 | 31 Comments More

If you are ready to start 2011 with some cool and useful outsourcing tools you will love the sites I’m about to introduce to you.

As a dedicated entrepreneur I love outsourcing. For me, it is half the battle of running a successful business. The other half is the system.

As you probably already know, parts of an effective system requires some kick ass tools that automate repetitive tasks and processes. Why would you want to do the same thing time and again if a software can do it for you?

Groovy Start-Ups to Help You Systematize Your Business

Putting your systems in order is key if you want to save time, money and hassles. Lucky for us there are a growing range of tools on the market that help us do that with ease. I dare say that the immediate future will see an increase in app-powered software tools to help us customize the way we collaborate.

The following start-ups have struck a chord with me; I deem each of them a potential winner because they are cloud based.

pearltrees
One of the start-ups that has me intrigued is pearltrees. This self-titled social curation platform allows you to share pearls with others on the Internet. These little pearls can be any link, webpage, video image, etc you find and like on the Web. It’s a bit like having an online bookmarking tool that can be highly intuitive, organized and shared with your team members.

Nothing should stop you from taking pearltrees and using this tool to get organized in your business. I’ll be sure to watch how these guys fare throughout 2011.

Podio
Podio takes collaboration to new heights in 2011 and beyond. This start-up offers you a platform on which you can build your own apps. You are in charge of creating your own work spaces, allowing you to work to your rhythm. There are integrated social features and plenty of extras such as your own handpicked:

  • Apps
  • Spaces
  • Stream
  • Tasks
  • Contacts
  • Calendar

Launched in 2009, Podio has only recently come out of stealth mode and is set to take the online world by storm in 2011. You can register your interest into this software now to be one of the first on board when they go public.

eTask.it
eTask.it is considered to be one of the hottest nearshoring start-ups in the Americas right now. This intuitive integrated project management tool allows companies and service professionals to work with and handle their clients and team in the cloud.

eTask.it harnesses the global trend of collaboration. It helps you to manage your processes, your partners and your people. Your company will be more transparent and therefore attract long-term relationships. You can choose your preferred tool with this platform, depending on your priorities and objectives.

What Will You Do in 2011?

If you are still toying with the idea of giving outsourcing a go I strongly urge you to join the crowd. Outsourcing has the potential to supercharge your business to levels you’ve never dared dreaming about. The secret of doing it right lies in utilizing the right tools and systems. The above companies will get you started – the rest is up to you.

Podio seems like a neat tool. I might tinker around with it.

  2. Henway says:

I dun think the secret is using the right tools. There are some dangers to outsourcing that people need to be aware of. I know someone who outsourced content generation to someone in Asia, and all he got back was plagiarized content, so you have to be careful who you outsource to. Tools are just tools – you’re still outsourcing to actual human beings.

Building a system that will allow you to work on a business rather than in it is a really differentiating factor between successful and just overworked entrepreneurs.

Agree with what Henway says above… a fool with a tool is still a fool…

  23. Audrey R. says:

Among the many challenges in outsourcing entails the absence of an efficient way of managing staff. This is really a problem embraced by both the company and its staff members. If the organization is not structured, communication is erratic and expectations are usually not clear to those working for you. Staff are then left beginning to feel unsupported as well as uninspired. This scenario results in a massive likelihood of outsourced workers to become ineffective and unproductive.

Thanks for sharing this quality information.

  25. Martin says:

These new apps are a great sign of things to come, it’s a sure thing outsourcing will be taken to a new level in the following years because of the high competition and the work load that cover all the markets these days.
Big companies have been doing this fore years by building factories in foreign countries, we online have been more timid so far.

The outsourcing provides you the best results in terms of price quality relationship whether a good management of the quality assurance is done. An authentic example is the IT Outsourcing.

  27. Loldri says:

I personally think that the trick with outsourcing is to start slowly and really carefully track what it is that people are doing. As they work well and gain trust they can be left more to work on their own and you can focus on other outsources and up the workload to the people who you trust and have trained.

The hard work is at the start training and tracking people, that can be a pain to setup!
