How to Write a SEO Piece Well
In order to make your website top in the search rankings, it is important that you create fresh, attractive, informative and entertaining content. Once you have identified the keywords and the topic, you need to creatively build the content. Contents that are original, useful and effective are the lifeline of your website. If you follow a few simple tips, you can make your SEO piece attractive and make your website top in the search rankings.
Educate, inform or offer relevant advice
Usually the purpose of your SEO or search engine optimization article is to inform the people about the availability of a particular product or service on your website. Readers will be attracted to a piece if they realize that it offers something new and informative. A tiny dose of humor doesn’t hurt too.
Deliver on the promise
Make sure that your article covers everything that you wish to convey to people especially if you have specified them in headline or introduction. You will establish yourself as an authority if you write well, covering all the aspects.
Make your piece concise
An ideal SEO piece shouldn’t contain more than 750 words. Not many people have the time and patience to read through a long article. If the piece is unnecessarily long, the reader will gradually lose interest even if it is informative. Avoid unnecessary words and phrases to make your piece concise and neat. A normal SEO article should contain an introduction that gives an overview, body, and a conclusion. The body of the article shouldn’t be more than four paragraphs.
Make sure you create fresh content. Do not plagiarize or duplicate contents from other sources. The readers will lose interest in your piece if they realize that you have duplicated the content.
Stay focused
It is important to stay focused to retain the interest of your readers. Try to address one idea in one paragraph. Make sure the examples you provide substantiate the points you discuss.
Do not discuss anything that will direct the attention of the reader away from the topic that you are addressing. Also, do not incorporate any links that are not relevant to the theme or topic you are discussing.
Easy to read
To make your piece easy to read, use numbered list and bullet points. Readers can scan-read your piece and look for relevant information if you use bullets and numbers as they break up the contents of the article. Separate information by using subheads. Readers will be able to easily focus on the points of importance if you use subheads in your piece.
Use simple language which is understood by everyone. Not many readers have the patience to search for the meaning of a particular word or phrase that you have used in the article. Avoid using jargons and worn-out phrases. Do not use foreign words, and scientific terms and phrases which are not commonly used.
If you keep these things in mind and generate fresh and informative content, the traffic to your website will be increased and consequently your website will top in the search listings.

If the piece is strictly SEO focused, then you want to have targeted keywords that you’ve researched. You want the keywords in your title and headings. Sprinkly your keyword in the post, but don’t overstuff. You want your article to be an enjoyable read for your audience.

I’d say this is a good set of guidelines for creating quality content, not just SEO content.
For the optimization bearing in mind some keywords (based on good research) and incorporating them in the headline, subheads, post body and meta description – In a NATURAL WAY – is the advice I’d give.
