How to Play Google Pacman Game Online or Download it for Free
On May 22, 1980 the now-iconic Pac-Man game was released in Japan by Namco Bandai Games. Originally called Puck Man, and Pac-Man launched in the U.S. in October 1980 and went on to sell more than 100,000 units in its first year of production.
On Friday, Google commemorated the 30th birthday of Pacman by adorning its search engine with a HTML5 Pacman game Doodle which could be played in your HTML5 supported browsers.
According to sources, Google birthday celebration experiment of Google Pacman Doodle has been so popular with the fans that Google has decided to make the Pac man game a permanent addition to Google’s set of web tools.
“Pac-Man seems like a natural fit for the Google homepage,” wrote Marcin Wichary, senior UX designer and developer for Google.
“They’re both deceptively straightforward, carefully hiding their complexity under the hood. There’s a light-hearted, human touch to both of them. And we can only hope you find using Google at least a quarter as enjoyable as eating dots and chasing ghosts. You know, without actually needing any quarters.”
The free doodle game proved so popular, according to Marissa Mayer, vice president of search and user experience for Google, that Google May 23 movedthe doodle game to its own permanent Web page on Google at google.com/pacman.

Ok! Haven’t had your fill of Pacman yet?? So you want to download the game and play it even offline?
You can play the game live at http://macek.github.com/google_pacman/ or you can download the code and run the game from your browser anytime, by downloading the source at Github.
This is what you want to do:
1. Go to http://github.com/macek/google_pacman
Click on the “Download Source” button near the top of the page. It doesn’t really matter what option you choose for downloading, TAR or ZIP.
2. Unzip the Folder
The folder will have a name like “macek-google_pacman.” Once unzipped, you’ll see some files and a folder labeled source.
Double click on the index.html file.
3. Play Google Pac-Man
Enjoy!
Alternatively you may also want to play pacman on your blackberry. Download the Pacman for Blackberry game

Pacman is a real classic! I’ve first played it way back when I was in third grade and until now, ages later, I still love to play it. It’s amazing how time flies so fast. One can now play it online for free.

Thanks for sharing the pacman link! I’ve read somewhere that when Google launched the game on their homepage, many companies have lost a lot of money since their employees spent a lot time playing the game during office hours. It just goes to show how popular and addicting this game is.

I love Pacman; I think it was awesome of Google to put such an indepth Pacman game on the front page of Google. It was something like over 100 levels long.
