How to Optimize The Landing Page for a Better Conversion
Introduction
The first look on a website’s landing page tells a user if he or she wants to stay on the page or not. This takes around thirty seconds. So after a few seconds on the landing page, the user either stays on the page or closes it. People constantly try to make their websites interesting so that more and more users get attracted as well as search engine show the site more often. The conversion rate is the percentage of people that are actually converted towards buying the product on the specific site. Optimizing the landing page is one of the most important parts in increasing the conversion rate.
Ways to optimize a landing page
- One of the things that can be done for attracting the visitor on his first visit is to decrease the site load time. Images should be converted in to smaller sizes so that the individual gets a faster load time on the website. Another way is to focus on the written content and reduce images. Though images are an attractive way to persuade visitors but sometimes these images are the basis of a slow and frustrating site.
- Another thing that can be done is to ease the navigation. People think that effects and visuals are attractive but most of the visitors like it plain and simple. Thus, they find it easy to navigate through the site and find what they are looking for without them figuring out how the navigation works.
- Content is another part on the landing page of the site. Keep the heading clear and decent so that the visitor can easily read the content and knows if this is the right site for him or her. Another thing that should be kept when designing the landing page is to keep the content relevant and short. Most of the users would not even bother to read the entire paragraph. Keep it simple and state only the most important points.
- Another way is to shorten down the form filling. Most sites have lengthy forms and that usually scares of the visitor. Keep the forms really short so that people are easily able to fill it and submit it.
- Testing is a new and a more common way of optimizing the landing page. Testing is a really common way of finding out how the page is performing. You can start off by using two different landing pages and can find out which one performs better. Then the most effective page should be selected.
- The most attractive parts of the landing page are the images and visuals. But one has to be careful as more images result in a greater loading time. Images should be small in size but should be attractive to persuade the visitor. As it is a landing page, images should clearly reflect on what the site is able to do for the visitor.
- Another way is to keep the white space on the landing page. A lot of visitors usually close the site if they think it’s too crowded. So keep only relevant content on the landing page so that the visitor doesn’t run away right after opening the page.

I like the first point and really i learn very interesting thing from that point which is image loading i have one site which of iphone application on the home page there was some images so the page take some time to load properly and i just can’t understand the problem so i think the problem is images the images took so many time to load so that’s why my website is take time to load.. really great post
Optimizing landing page is process that takes time and need a lot of research and A-B testing. Rarely can be done perfectly from first try. Lets not forget that also product or service are very important, as not all items are equal, for some conversion is higher.
I think here the content comes the first as this is the most important moment and if a visitor finds what they want they will no go back and thus you need to optimize the meta descriptions as well in order to direct a visitor in the right way.
I was unaware of what a landing page is and here I come to know what it is. I feel that all your tips are great and would be helpful for landing page optimization. I feel that testing would be the most effective way!

A langing page is the first thing that a visitor sees when they enter a site, so it should the best as you can do it. Great content and good structture and so on. Thus it is quite logcal that you spend some time optimizing it

These are excellent tips Crystal, it sounds very easy written this way, but for sure tweaking landing page is one of the most difficult things do to online. A-B testing, even color scheme and font size can play very important part of the process of improving conversion.
