Getting More Backlinks through Quality SEO
In SEO, back links play a significant role in the reputation of a web page, and they are nothing but incoming links to a website or a web page. Let’s see how to get more backlinks by doing quality SEO.
Importance of Backlinks
Backlinks of a webpage determines to significant aspects of a webpage and they are mentioned below:
- The popularity of the website is determined by no. of backlinks, which is used by Google to assign the page ranks. It is very simple, more backlinks equals to higher page ranks, however the links should come from well recognized websites i.e. from one, which have good page ranks.
- It also indicates who is paying attention to a particular web page i.e.it can be of significant cultural, personal or semantic interest.
The backlinks are having great importance in SEO like regardless you optimize your blog perfectly or not, if you get sufficient backlinks for your blog from quality websites, then you will be automatically ranked well, and vice versa. I’ve done a post Skype Alternative on which I haven’t optimized and just got few backlinks and within few days I jumped onto first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing as well. But I don’t recommend you to get only backlinks, but I’ve explained this to make you understand the importance of backlinks. The backlinks are called by different names including inbound links, incoming links, inward links, and inlinks.
How to get more Backlinks?
Website owners often use various Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques to increase the number of backlinks in order to boost the Google page ranks. But, actually it is quality along with quantity, which will help to obtain better ranks in search engines.
The quality of the backlinks is determined based on the following factors.
- The theme of the back-linking webpage should be same as your webpage.
- The backlinks should relate to your website via the keyword that you are annoying to optimize for.
So, while building links it’s very important to follow the above mentioned aspects so as to obtain good results. If both the linking sites have content gearing towards to an identical keyword topic, then that backlink would be considered as relevant by Search engine bots, and it can have strong influence on the page ranks. And also, you need to check the niche blog that related your blog. Like if your blog is about Android Elements, and you have written an article on Android Camera Apps and got few links from Education sites, that it is considered as useless. So, Act intelligently while getting backlinks.
It is important that building too many backlinks during a short period of time is very dangerous as excessive low quality or even high quality backlinking in short period can penalize the websites ranking, and it can even result in de-indexing of the webpage altogether.
Anything more than couple of hundreds per day is considered as very dangerous.
Technical Aspects of Backlinks
When HTML was first implemented, there was no precise method in the design, which can keep track of backlinks as it involves additional network and logistical overhead.
Today, most of the content management systems have the capability to track backlinks. In Google, the number of inlinks to wiki can be determined using link:wikipedia.org, which gives the number as the details of the external sites linking to Wiki.
In Yahoo, the backlinks info can be found by typing linkdomain:http://www.wikipedia.org.
In a Nutshell
Back-links pointing to your website basically indicate the popularity level of your web pages, and help search engines in determining their placement against millions of other competing pages. Therefore, if your web pages don’t have enough popularity, they’ve very little chances of rankings for first page, and vice-versa holds good too.
