Yes! You can now earn money, just by displaying Images on your own sites. The only thing you have to do is to sign up for an In-Image Advertising network and then add their Javascript code or plugin in your blog/site. After you add the code, these network will start displaying small advert at the bottom of your images. These adverts only appear if you hover your mouse around the advert space so it won’t disturb the visual appeal of the images.

Many Image focused sites like Entertainment sites, movie news, celebrity fansites, Wallpaper sites use these platform to earn a lot of revenue. Maybe you could too.

Image Space Media was the first company that experimented this niche.Image Space Media (formerly PicAd Media) is a TechCrunch50 demopit company and is the most popular in this niche

Image Space Media pay you for displaying their In-Image Advertising in your Website’s Images. They have a highly intuitive dashboard called the PubStop platform. GumGum was first started in 2008 as an technology to track photos so that the photo owners could generate royalty revenue from the people who published/use the photos on their web sites. Just a few days back they completely transitioned to in-image ads. The company had stated testing in-image advertising a few months back and now it is live.

Even though the dashboard of this network does not have many options and shows the Earnings and Impressions report.

This advertising network overlays small banners on your Images.You just need to add a small Javascript code on your site to start earning and Payments are made via Paypal.  See below for an example of the advert

3) Embed Anything

While this platform is not a fully In-Image Advertising Network but this Company does use the in-image advertising framework to help you earn money.

Embed Anything‘s basic idea seems to be somewhat similar to what GumGum had implemented when It first launched. The idea that to help picture owners profit off whenever somebody uses their images.

The startup’s technology allows you to add an embed button (only displays when you move over it) on your images ( as well as on articles ) in your website so that anyone can grab a image code and use it in their web pages. Once the image is embedded, an overlay image will start displaying along with a link back to the source.

The network allows the publishers to choose what advertisement they want to display in that adspace. The publisher can use any Ad networks like AdSense, AdBrite etc. For 50 impressions the publishers ad will be displayed and for other 50 the network will display their own Adsense ads (50-50 split revenue sharing). The network offers you a dashboard where you can check how many impressions your image has got, where the Image has been embedded and also allows you to delete unwanted embeds.

Embed Anything also offers you a WordPress Plugin which you can use in your WordPress Blog. For other sites, you need to add a small Javascript code. Check out an example of the Advert.

And Ya! I forgot to mention. This type of adverts have more CTR than even Adsense Ads.

Payout Details

1) Image Space Media: Payouts are done once your account reaches 25$, you can receive payment through check or Paypal.

2) GumGum: Payouts are done monthly but no payout limits has been mentioned. Pays through Paypal.

3) Embed Anything: You do not have to worry about payout for this because you will be using your own Advertising Network (Adsense, Adbrite) and they will just display your ads.

You were asking me the best among these three. It will depend on what kind of site do you have. If you have a celebrity or a Movie related site then GumGum is the one for you. For others I would recommend ImageSpace Media. I cannot comment on the CTR of these sites because these networks are comparatively new and have been introduced only a few months back. Gum Gum was released only a week back so we have not have enough time to check the CTR rates.

A little while back, while I was chatting with one of my friend, Shaquille Ray of SeoPostman.com in Facebook about this post, he mentioned about AdBrite which also offers In-Image Advertising service like the above sites named as BritePic. The reason I did not include BritePic in this list is that for using BritePic, you need to insert code snippets in your page for each of the image which I think is not viable. So just to mention, BritePic is also an In Image Advertising Service from Adbrite

The payment methods in affiliate marketing is quite the attraction for many online entrepreneurs because the sum of the methods of payment used by various affiliates differ in compensation structure, payout thresholds, and commission percentages. Whether you choose CPM, PPC/CPC or CPA, the number one thing to remember is that you have to pick an affiliate and product that is right for you. If you don’t have confidence or passion about what you’re marketing, you won’t succeed at all.

5)    Remember that the text messages on your pages are of utmost importance so choose your font, font size, color and line spacing for readability. It is worth noting that direct marketers tend to choose the popular 12pt Courier font in their printed material. Always use a sans-serif font such as Arial, Verdana or Tahoma.

6)    Make your site navigation simple and intuitive. Your navigation system should be so obvious that visitors are not required to think about it at all. Provide them with a simple navigation system that remains in the same location as they move from page to page. The familiar tab based design has been found to be the most popular and user-friendly style of navigation. It’s also important to always provide clear feedback that indicates the page that the visitor is currently viewing. The main news that I would like to update my fellow bloggers and friends about Chitika is that they are now slowly trying to spread their share in the non-search advertising segment too.

Chitika have now upgraded all their Chitika Premium ads to Chitika Select. Chitika Select is the recent upgrade to the Advertising module of Chitika. From now on, Chitika will not only display ads for search engine traffic but it will also display ads for some selected non search engine traffic. That is whenever Chitika feels there is a higher chance to receive a click on the ad, then an ad is displayed. This is truely a unique mechanism that Chitika is coming through with.

By default, this is an opt-out system instead of opt-in so all your ads will be using Chitika | Select by default but you can opt out of the Chitika | Select (i.e. both search engine and non search engine traffic targeted ad) and use only Chitika | Premium (only search engine targeted ad). This can be done in your Account Manager. Also you have the option of opting out of Chitika Select and showing only Chitika Premium ads in your site. It completely will depends on you.

You do not need to worry about a ton of ads showing up in your site. Chitika will be implementing select in small number of impressions and gradually increase the impression.

Paypal had earlier stated that it will re-continue local bank withdrawal on March 3rd after suspending all withdrawals in India for atleast a month. According to that statement Paypal had also informed the users that from now onwards any Indian user who would want to withdraw to his bank would need an export code for the withdrawal. Since Paypal did not clarify What this Export Code meant many freelancers made a pre assumption that this Export Code was the IEC (Import Export Code) issued by the RBI for Import and Export. Thus this caused a lot of chaos in the Indian Freelancer community since the IEC Code is not easy to acquire.

On March 3rd, Paypal posted a new post in it’s blog and clarified everything about how an Indian should withdraw from Paypal. They also clarified that the Export Code that they were mentioning earlier did not mean the IEC code but instead it was a set of codes that they had made up themeselves so that they can categories what kind of transaction is happening. From now onwards while withdrawing to your bank account you will need to choose a purpose of your withdrawal (i.e. for what have you got the money ) for e.g. Freelance journalism, Hardware Consulting, Software Consulting etc. The whole list of Purposes can be checked here .

The selected purpose will appear as a code on your bank account statement along with the description.

So from now onwards when you withdraw money from Paypal to your bank account be sure to properly enter the purpose as listed so that you may not across any problem in withdrawal.

While on the other hand, those people who had withdrawn during this Paypal chaos, you all do not need to worry. Paypal is going to refund your account until this weekend as they stated.
