Are We Addicted to The Internet?
If you were to answer the above question, What would your answer be? Can you stay away for a month from the Internet? 1 month too much!! Ok let me rephrase that, Can you stay away even for a week from the Internet? I heard somebody say “1 week! Are you mad”. OK I reduce the term. 1 day should be enough. Right?
I know many of you reading the post cannot leave the internet even for one day. So does that mean that you are Internet Addicted? We don’t really know. It is considered that 1 out of 8 person who uses the Internet has an Internet Addiction Disorder. The statistics show that this issue is indeed serious – with potentially dangerous side affects. I really wanted to share with you the following infographic in connection to that.

I think the internet does enable (or cause) a certain type of addiction to occur because on chatrooms for example, you can interact with others without feedback of body language and tone of voice. As a result illusions and delusions build up rapidly along with a physiological response that is no longer inhibited by body language or tone of voice. Drugs basically do the same thing, by enhancing certain nerve circuits and inhibiting others.

I guess most of the people nowadays are addicted to the internet because of the numerous advantages it confers on them. Almost everything can now be done on the internet: education, business, etc.
