I agree with every point except site maps as I see not so much necessity of a site map for SEO as a search engine can consider your site even without a sitemap. I know many sites which are rather sucessful without it.

Site map is really not necessary for search engine indexing and on page SEO then why Google webmaster tools and Bing and Yahoo has an option to submit your website site map.
Yes lists the good points. Think these are the standard things you should know about SEO. Also, I still think that even a good high quality content is very important. For if no content is present then read what the bot?
These are some great basic tips. I’m still a little confused about article submitting though. I’ve heard that having duplicate content around the web is not a good thing and the article directories seem to do just that.
