5 Reasons Why One Should Avoid Free Webhosting
There are a number of free web hosting companies that are available on the World Wide Web, whom you can hire or rent to host your website. In addition, for your surprise you will find that there are a number of web hosting companies that offers, free webhosting servers, which is not a good practice if you are serious about blogging and establishing your website. Spending some money on these websites is worth the money spent and you should know why free web hosting services are not that good.

Most of these free online webhosting companies have a number of various hidden costs, which will incur you some costs that can result in hefty bills, once you cross the allowed free quota. You will also be constrained by not being in a position to lose your customers by transferring your website domain name at that instance, especially with the increasing competition. Nevertheless, free webhosting will not allow you to have *.htaccess or FTP support, both of which are vital for enhanced security.
2. No technical support:
When you are going to use web hosting services that are free, the access to help and technical support from the server administrators is nil, and therefore you will require sorting things by yourself, which can give a negative mark on your blog.

Putting business website on free host sounds like a joke. Free hosts appear and disappear. Huge downtime, no contracts, limited or no support.
And worst part is no support. If one is serious about websites then he/she must go with paid hosting

I would rather pay for hosting than use one of the free service, which offer very little back. I need to stay in control of what content I am managing. With virtual server hosting you can have multiple IP addressing, and manage all of your domains in one spot.
Most of the web hosting services are really cheap consider the amount you can earn online. I think that we should avoid free hosting just for the sake of saving a few dimes.

Well, it’s free webhosting so that’s the only luxury you’ll get from it. It’s limited and inconvenient with all the ads popping up.

Some companies (such as mine) offer free hosting as a way of trialling our service. That is why its only a small package but allows you to get a feel of what you can expect as a paying customer. I think the big problem is the companies offering unlimited bandwidth and storage, this is unrealistic and they will have oversold there server to the max…. which then leads to everyone on there suffering with poor performance. This is how I see it…. Im not trying to plug my services…. just speaking the truth

I think that the worst drawback of free hosting is that you don’t own the content. If the provider decides that your content is not worth it, they’ll simply delete it and you end up with doing hours of hard work for nothing. So no matter what your situation is, i advise you to stay away from it.

I agree Shiva. I have an experience to host my blogs on free hosts. I hosted them on frihost.net and though there is not much to grumble about, it had a problem. Any email from the site won’t reach to yahoo users. So reply notification never reached them. When I inquired, there was nothing they could do. Because the server was shared among many free blogs and websites, some of them spams too much and most of the email providers like Yahoo, Gmail black lists the IP Address for spamming.
This made me think seriously and decide to go for buying a hosting.
