3 Common Link Building Mistakes
Links are like the food to the websites and web pages which make them healthy, I guess you all will accept this point. Link building is definitely a big part in SEO which has been done as a professional service as well. Whom so ever you might be i.e., a professional link builder or building link for your blogs/Sites there are few things which you must not do. In case you do them, be sure you will regret later!
These are some simple but common mistakes that are being committed which affect the site / blog in huge amount quickly or in future. Search engines like Google value only “do follow links” i.e. links without a nofollow tag. Links with no follow attribute are accepted and valued by Yahoo and ask. They value each and every link. But who values them? (Hope Google followed the Yahoo concept too!) 
These are the common mistakes which must be avoided during the link building process,
Link building speed:
Do not ever build links overnight i.e. do not build thousands and thousands of links in a single night. Search engines are pretty clever these days and they can really found out that a human cannot do this at a single stretch. Try to build the links slowly and steady as that can help you in good long run. Also make sure that you are not dumping a new site with more links as Search engines are pretty strict on these as well. Better take precautions and move on slowly and steadily. If you act very fast, you may get banned from search engines. Slow is the way to go.
Quality of links:
As said always, it is better to get a good single link from a quality site instead of hundreds of links from a low quality site. These low quality sites decreases your page value a lot. SO beware of it. Get links from reputed sites with good visitors (Real visitors). Don’t get links from spammy sites. They don’t add any value to your PR, but may reduce it highly!
Niche:
It is waste to get hundred good high quality health links for a tech blog as no search engines values it. It is always advised to get a niche related backlink as that is taken into consideration when the Search Engine Rank Positions or Page Rank is calculated. So target your niche wisely. Gte health links for health blogs and get tech links for a tech blog! Don’t get random links.

Are you sure that getting link from spammy sites will harm website ranking ? As far as I know that linking to spammy sites harms the ranking not getting link from them !
I fully agree with Shiva…Though I am new to this medium I understand that if I link to a bad neighborhood, it may harm my site…

Common mistake that many SEO people do is forgetting the niche based backlinks. when i get comments with link backs to many pills or cosmetics websites i just feel to say “its useless you dumb”.

I see people all to often thinking it’s ‘normal’ to build 100k links over night through some kind of crazy bot, manual link building maybe hard work but for those who get off their ass and do it they’ll last a hell of a lot longer than those who try and cheat the system.
100k links over night will only raise alarm flags in the search engine algorithms because it is not natural to get 100k links to your site within a short period of time except when your site is already an authority site with a substantial amount of links, but this is all covered in the algorithm.
You are on point with this post. Those are definitely things to avoid.

Have to be very careful about link building and number of links per day. Link building is one of the most important part of SEO and anchor text and quality of the links is critical.
The rules are:
1. Slow slow and slow, but enough
2. Quality, same niche
3. Good link, less outbound.

I like that you have a few consecutive posts all on link building strategies. It makes it easy to bounce from one to the other and stay on the same topic. I think quality links are the most important to focus on. A link from one homepage that’s an authority in your industry would probably outrank 100 links from weak interior pages scattered around the web.

I think quality over quantity is the best approach and will in the end produce more better targeted traffic, just linking from an ice cream site to audio equipment doesnt have any relevance and i doubt will help your cause whatsoever.

You have a great points here! I think the most important here is to get a link from a quality site rather than getting it from a low quality site. Hundreds of links would be useless if we just acquire it from a low quality site. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
I totally agree. Higher quality links can get your website with improved positions in search engines at a faster rate. Lower quality links may be easier to obtain but they do not have the same strength as quality links provide.

An automated backlink building can be dangerous for two factors:
1) Comments not contextual with the site (comment spam) that they can bring the site to be blacklisted (ie askimet)
2) A large number of comments approved but then removed, and a large decrease in the number of baclink. This condition is detected by Google as usual in the spam sites
With regard to speed, I have not found reliable sources about it, but I think this may be harmful if the site receives a human evaluation by google

About the ‘Niche’, i think it is not important for search engines if your health link is in a tech blog. But you can get more clicks on your link from the readers, if your health link is in a health link.
